*A FEW NOTES FIRST*
Rather than typing "GO EAST", "GO WEST" and such, one can use "E" for East, "W" for West, "U" for UP, "D" for Down, and so on... However, more specific places such as "Dark Corridor" require something like "GO TO DARK CORRIDOR" or "GO DARK CORRIDOR". Although you will find that "GO CORR" works as well, since it picks up on partial words sometimes.
"LOOK" or "LOOK AT" command usually works as a thorough examination of a room or an object (sometimes there's nothing special about a room or object, so you won't get much description) or sometimes you won't get any until you've done something else. If you want a repeat of general description of a room, simply type "L".
"I" works to check the "Inventory".
"LEAVE", "DROP", "THROW" often works to leave an item from your inventory in a room you are in. So far they don't seem to make a difference except in a case with fragile objects such as a "bottle". If you need to leave a bottle somewhere you type "leave" because if you use "drop" it'll break and disappear.
Once you figure out the "flow" of the game you'll know how to use obecjts on each other or how to generally play the game. But here are a few precautions:
You can't seeem to use objects on one another by typing "use this on that". And the game won't be helpful by telling you why you can't do something yet, it'll just say "you can't do this just yet" if what you're trying to do can be done but you're missing something or are in a wrong place. If you want to use an object on another you have to be specific with a game. For example if you want to use a saw to cut something, you don't type "use saw on whatever", you type "cut whatever". If you don't have either a saw or "whatever" then you won't be able to cut it.
Also, sometimes you need to leave or drop an item in a room in order for it to take effect. It may seem vague to simply type "leave item" but the game takes into account that you've figured out why you need to drop/leave an item in a certain room. So, if you do, it immediately picks up on it and puts it to use.
Remember that the game is of the very early days of text adventuring, so expect a very different style of play (sometimes even frustrating) than what you're used to in modern adventures. And try not to be too harsh on the game. The games of old often did not explain why you ended up being where you are, you were just thrown into somewhere and left on your own ;-)
If you're still confused as to how a game works, have a look through a partial walkthrough to get an idea...
*NOW FOR A WALKTHROUGH SO FAR*
(Save regulary with ALT-Z, and load with ALT-L if needed, do NOT use the game's SAVE feature)
(Remember that you can probably try more things that are covered in WT, this
is just a more straigh-forward course of actions)
(Also, if it ever says "you are carrying too much" you can drop something
temporarily and get it back later)

"MAKE CROSS" (now you have a Crucifix and can go into a Haunted Bedroom
upstairs)
at this point I don't know what to do next...
You can try lighting a candle and going into a haunted bedroom, but there's
a cloak/ghost that attacks you in about two moves... You can try getting a painting
and opening a safe but the safe needs a 4 digit code, which you have to find
somewhere... obviously, you need to do something with the cloak/ghost before
you should touch the safe...
I've found that "exorcise cloak" works but it says "you can't
do that just yet" probably because you're missing something...
The whole game seems to have an "Exorcist" theme...
I'm thinking you're missing a water that needs to be blessed in some way to
become holy, and then you can exorcise the cloak. But I can't seem to be able
to get the water from the sink. I tried using wine bottle but it won't help.
If you drink the wine, for some reason the bottle is gone too. If you try to
"empty wine" then it doesn't understand you. If you try "empty
water", it says u don't have it yet, which means it'll be necessary to
do at some point once you do have the water.
If you type "fill bottle" or "fill" anything at this point,
it keeps saying "what with?", so maybe the "fill" command
is useful at some point.
I still think that the bottle of wine can be used to get water somehow but the game's logic prevents me from finding out how. Or maybe it's because you do need wine. Maybe bread and wine have some use in the game, since they have a religious significance in real life...
Anyway, I don't know what to do at this point... Some of the items that I dropped to free space in the inventory may possibly be used again and may not. So, just because I dropped them, doesn't mean they're not needed anymore...
Can you figure out what to do next?
